Agreement
  • Eligibility: Applicants must be 18+ with a passport valid for at least six months. All required information, forms and checks must be completed accurately and by the stated deadlines.
  • Fundraising: Minimum targets are £5,000 (UK/UAE/other applicable locations), $7,500 (USA), $10,500 (Canada) and $11,500 (Australia). Funds must be raised through approved Salam Charity fundraising arrangements and directed to the designated deployment.
  • Registration Fee: A registration fee is payable before travel: £200 (UK/UAE), $350 (USA), $500 (Canada) or $800 (Australia). This is separate from the fundraising target and is non-refundable unless agreed otherwise.
  • Fundraising Deadline: The fundraising target must normally be reached six weeks before deployment. Applicants who do not reach the target may request a deferral before the deadline, subject to approval and availability. Funds will otherwise remain allocated to the designated deployment.
  • Deployment Places: Spaces are limited and reaching the fundraising target does not automatically guarantee a place. Priority may be given to applicants who reach their target within the required timeframe. In this instance, your place will be deferred onto the next available trip.
  • Flights: All flights departing from the UK will be from London Heathrow airport. Volunteers in the UK are responsible for getting to/from Heathrow and for any personal travel costs not specifically covered. Where flights are included, Salam Charity also covers the return flight between deployment destination and the applicant country within the designated travel dates (i.e. UAE, USA/ Canada, Europe, Australia).
  • Travel Arrangements: One-way flights must be agreed in advance. Accommodation outside the official deployment dates are not covered. Salam Charity will aim to provide at least 20kg checked baggage + 7kg hand luggage, where reasonably available.
  • Visas & Entry: Applicants are responsible for meeting all visa, entry, passport and travel-document requirements and must follow the destination-specific guidance provided by Salam Charity. Requirements may change.
  • Health & Vaccinations: Applicants are responsible for completing any required vaccinations, health checks and travel documentation. Uganda deployments require applicants to review current UK Government guidance regarding yellow fever vaccination/certification. Medical and safeguarding information must be provided when requested.
  • Deployment Changes: Salam Charity reserves the right to cancel, postpone or change deployment dates, flights, accommodation, activities, capacity or destination arrangements where necessary. Volunteers must follow reasonable instructions relating to travel, safeguarding, security and operations.
  • Donations & Conduct: Donations made through approved Salam Charity channels are non-refundable, subject to applicable law and Salam Charity's donation policy. Volunteers must follow fundraising guidance and provide accurate information. Participation may be withdrawn where serious concerns arise regarding conduct, safeguarding, fundraising or compliance.
  • Applicant Responsibilities: Volunteers are responsible for meeting all deadlines, keeping their information up to date, following Salam Charity's volunteer guidance, safeguarding requirements and code of conduct, and reading all destination-specific information before travel.
