About the Challenge
This May, your little ones can take on one of the UK’s biggest running events – and do it for a cause that truly matters.
The Great Mini Run is part of the AJ Bell Great Run weekend, one of the most exciting mass-participation events in the country. With thousands of runners, an electric city-centre atmosphere, and cheering crowds, it’s an unforgettable experience for children and families alike.
Mini runners (ages 3–8) take on a 1.6km dash alongside a parent or guardian, while Junior runners (ages 9–15) tackle a 2.5km challenge. Every child receives a medal, an official t-shirt, and the knowledge that they are helping others.
All funds raised support Salam Charity’s Tent of Dreams project in Lebanon, providing free education to Syrian refugee children who have never attended school.
Where Your Fundraising Goes: Tent of Dreams
Thousands of Syrian children in Lebanon grow up in refugee camps without access to education or essential services. It is estimated that 50% are out of school.
Salam Charity’s Tent of Dreams project provides safe learning spaces through five education tents in Akkar, Lebanon. Each tent supports 30 children aged 4–12 with language, numeracy, and life skills.
Children receive full educational kits including books, stationery, and learning materials. Priority is given to those at risk of exploitation, child labour, or early marriage.
When your child runs, a child in Lebanon gets the chance to learn. It’s that simple.
