Equipping students with relevant skills for today’s job market.

Why we’ve funded this campaign:
In Bangladesh, only 64% of children finish secondary school. While the government aims to build a more robust education system, many young people currently lack the skills or competencies required in employment.
This project is designed to prepare those people for the contemporary job market. In time, we hope to offer a broad range of courses, but we’ve started with two subjects.
Progress
What is the objective?
We know that children and young people who live in poverty or disaster zones suffer greater disadvantage when it comes to education. Through teaching relevant, practical skills, this project aims to empower those young people, giving them the skills and knowledge that they need to secure employment.
Who does this campaign help?
It’s aimed at school and college dropouts, as well as people from vulnerable communities who are struggling with unemployment.
How has this campaign been going?
So far, we have 60 students enrolled in two programmes: Graphics Design and Mobile Repairing. With help from our local team, we will monitor the courses to measure their progress and help the students to get jobs on completion.
How has this campaign changed lives?
The chance to learn relevant, vocational skills is a real life-changer.
Our students – former dropouts or unemployed adults – will become employable graduates. With qualified teachers and excellent resources, the programme is designed to give them the knowledge and confidence to enter the workforce and earn an independent income.
What’s next for this campaign?
The Impact Vocational Training Centre is now developing new training programmes in Tailoring, Driving, Internet Networking, and other in-demand fields. This expansion will enable us to reach a wider audience and build up the centre as a comprehensive support network for young people who are looking for jobs.
