2025 Impact Report: Emergency Aid

Looking back at 2025: emergency aid
6,000 hot meals. 2,484 food packs. 670,000 litres of water for Gaza.
Here’s how you enabled Salam Charity to deliver urgent relief to millions of people in the last year.
Fighting malnourishment in Gaza
Even when the conflict came to a tenuous pause, the people in Gaza were threatened by starvation.
Aid routes were difficult to access at times, and people collected supplies at great personal risk.
But our teams were determined, and your donations enabled them to take 67 water trucks over the border from Egypt. More trucks delivered 450 packs of food, vegetables, bread and milk, as well as 100 nappy and general hygiene packs. On the Gaza Strip, our local partners set up stations to serve hot food, cooking in vast pots to feed more than 2,000 people.
Restoring homes in Syria
In the summer, many refugees began to return home to Syria.
We worked with local teams to provide rebuilding support, and some of our staff were side-by-side with Syrian families as they travelled to their original homes.
In Syria, we paid local labourers to restore homes — including plumbing, carpentry, plastering and decoration. Some homes had been annihilated, so we provided 22 insulated tents with frames for families to use while they rebuild their lives. We’ve rehomed 32 Syrian families this year, and our work here will continue in 2026.
Refugees in Lebanon
Lebanon has more refugees per sq.km than any other country in the world. In the winter, we’re there to deliver cold-weather aid to families living in temporary shelters. Heavy rainfall can flood their tents and ruin bedding, making it extremely difficult for them to stay warm and healthy.
Last winter (January 2025) we provided 280 winter blankets and 3,110 litres of heating fuel. We gave out extra supplies including mattresses, furniture and heaters. We also delivered more than 1,000 packs of food, bread, and vegetables.
Family sponsorships
While we deliver thousands of packs of food and other aid, we meet many families who urgently need help to survive.
Personal or family sponsorships give them invaluable security. If you can become a sponsor, you will receive twice-yearly updates which show you just what a difference you have made.
In Lebanon this year, we met Asma, a single mother of 3 boys. She works as a cleaner, earning $3 a day – insufficient for food, rent, healthcare, or electricity, which causes the family illness and distress. We were able to organise a sponsorship for Asma, who now receives a monthly payment covering her bills and food costs.
