Overview
EVERY COUNTRY HAS ITS OWN HEALTH CHALLENGES. TO BE SURE OUR SUPPORT IS RELEVANT AND BENEFICIAL, WE WORK CLOSELY WITH OUR PARTNERS ON THE GROUND.
For example, in Bangladesh, where the numbers of birth- and pregnancy-related deaths have been high, we’ve set up specialised maternal health clinics and employed qualified community workers.
In conflict zones like Syria and Gaza, where the infrastructure has been damaged, we provide mobile medical units and primary healthcare supplies to cover the basic needs until a long term solution is put in place.

- Vaccinate more people in immunisation programmes
- Provide free vitamins for children
- Offer free counselling services for children and adults

Previous Work
OUR FLAGSHIP SHIFA CLINIC BRINGS FREE HEALTHCARE TO THE RURAL AREAS OF ZAKIGANJ, IN SYLHET, BANGLADESH.
The rural area of Zakiganj has a combined population of around 150,000 – making this one of the poorest regions in Bangladesh. With no access to primary healthcare, the people who live there were forced to travel many miles for their basic (and urgent) medical needs.
It has a serious impact on many people, especially in maternal and antenatal care. 75% of all births in rural Bangladesh are not attended by a maternity nurse.
Our modern and well-equipped Shifa Clinic now offers free healthcare, including antenatal services, to impoverished families. It’s staffed by professionally trained doctors and nurses who offer free expert treatment, testing and advice to anyone in the district, providing a lifeline for thousands of people currently living in abject poverty.
Case Study
Preventing infection in the pandemic
During the COVID-19 pandemic, vulnerable people were exposed to even greater risks. Working closely with our partners on the ground, we distributed hygiene kits (including antibacterial soap, washing powder and cleaning supplies) along with regular deliveries of food to help keep people safe.
We’ve opened a second Shifa clinic in Lebanon. It has a wide range of medical equipment for tests and treatments and a well-stocked pharmacy which distributes free medicine. It’s staffed by qualified consultants and auxiliary staff including nurses and a driver who picks up patients. Our clinics in Lebanon and Bangladesh now support thousands of people every month.
If you would like to help cover costs of operating either of our Shifa Clinics, including providing medication it costs £3000 a month to support out Bangladesh clinic and £11,000 a month for our latest Lebanon clinic.
Untreated cataracts lead to blindness, but correction surgery is simple and fast. Our mobile Eye Cataract Camp offers examinations, free spectacles, and free surgery for day-patients. It’s an extremely valuable service for those people who are needlessly affected by cataracts.
To implement in Bangladesh or Pakistan, the price starts from £2500. Please contact one of our team members to find out more.
As our teams diligently identify individuals, both adults and children, in immediate need of assistance, we actively seek funds or initiate emergency appeals. For those interested in contributing, we encourage you to stay connected with our social media channels, where we regularly share new emergency cases, providing details on how you can offer support, including associated costs and additional ways to help.
In Lebanon, our commitment to healthcare extends to comprehensive services aimed at promoting awareness and early detection of breast cancer. We facilitate mammograms, echography screenings, and follow-up treatments, ensuring a well-rounded approach to women’s health. Through these initiatives, we not only strive to increase awareness about breast cancer but also actively work towards early detection, a crucial factor in improving treatment outcomes.
