Make a change
As a Salam Charity volunteer, you'll be delivering aid and providing extra help as it's needed – like cash to pay the electricity bill, a new mattress, a surgical operation, or a monthly sponsorship.
Before setting off, you'll raise funds for the trip and then you'll directly witness their impact.
Your work will change the course of people's lives. Last year, volunteers did amazing things like this:
Getting Omar back to school
10-year-old Omar* was sorting rubbish to find plastic that he could sell to bring money home to his mum. She works as a cleaner, but her $3/day salary isn't enough to sustain her three boys – one of whom was seriously ill in the winter.
Our volunteer team gave Omar's mum a monthly sponsorship to cover the essentials, so the kids could stop worrying and the family could start to thrive.
Mending Leila's heart
Our team met Jalal, who lives in a camp in Akkar. He works in agriculture, like his wife. Jalal had just been told that their 3-year-old daughter Leila needed another operation to close a hole in her heart.
There's no public health system in Lebanon, and the couple was desperate for money to pay for this urgent surgery.
Our volunteers provided the funds to mend Leila's heart, and our local team is keeping in touch to make sure that the family is financially supported.

You don't need any qualifications or related experience to join our Ramadan volunteer programme. You need to be:
✅ 18+
✅ In good health
✅ Ready to start fundraising (individual target: £5,000).
The registration fee of £200 covers your flights and accommodation.
